AI Forward Deployed Engineer
Work directly with clients to design, prototype and deliver practical AI solutions across enterprise, SAP and cloud-native environments.
We are looking for a Senior AI Forward Deployed Engineer to help clients move from AI ideas to working solutions.
This role sits at the intersection of consulting, engineering and product thinking. You will work directly with client teams to identify opportunities, shape use cases, build prototypes and help turn successful experiments into governed, production-ready AI capabilities. The ideal candidate is comfortable moving between strategy conversations, technical design, hands-on development and executive storytelling.
- Work with clients to identify high-value AI use cases and practical delivery pathways.
- Build prototypes, proofs of concept and early production AI applications.
- Design AI-enabled workflows across enterprise systems, documents, data and business processes.
- Apply modern LLM patterns including retrieval, tool use, agents, evaluation and guardrails.
- Help clients understand where SAP AI, Joule and SAP BTP AI capabilities fit into their landscape.
- Collaborate with SAP, integration, data and application teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Translate technical findings into clear recommendations for business and technology leaders.
- Contribute to reusable Beta Digital AI patterns, accelerators and delivery methods.
- Strong hands-on experience delivering AI, automation or data-driven applications.
- Broad understanding of generative AI, LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG, agents and AI safety patterns.
- Ability to prototype quickly using Python, TypeScript or similar modern development tools.
- Familiarity with enterprise systems and the realities of security, governance, privacy and change management.
- Understanding of SAP AI direction, including SAP Joule and AI capabilities across SAP BTP and SAP applications.
- Strong consulting communication and confidence working directly with client stakeholders.
- Ability to operate in ambiguous environments and turn loose ideas into structured delivery.
- Current right to work in Australia or New Zealand.
- Experience with SAP BTP, S/4HANA, SuccessFactors or SAP Integration Suite.
- Experience with Google Cloud Vertex AI, Azure AI, AWS Bedrock or similar cloud AI platforms.
- Familiarity with evaluation frameworks, AI governance or model risk management.
- Experience building AI assistants, workflow copilots or document intelligence solutions.
- Background in consulting, product engineering or enterprise transformation.
